Navigating the Aircraft Module

This article walks through how to get around the Aircraft Module, what each tab does, and where to go depending on what you’re trying to do.

Once you've created your first aircraft or imported your fleet, the Aircraft Module becomes your home base for aircraft-specific data. From here, you can quickly access everything from meter readings and compliance items to billing overrides and cylinder compressions — all in one place.

This article walks through how to get around the Aircraft Module, what each tab does, and where to go depending on what you’re trying to do.

Opening the Aircraft Module

To get started:

  1. Go to Modules > Aircraft from the left-hand navigation menu.
  2. You’ll land on the Aircraft List View, which shows all aircraft in your system.

From here, you can:

  • Search or filter by tail number, make/model, city, class, or customer
  • Click a tail number to open that aircraft’s record
  • See how many Continued Items (# CPL) exist for each aircraft

💡 Use the column filters to quickly find aircraft with deferred items or assigned to a specific customer or location.

Tabs Within an Aircraft Record

Once you click into a specific aircraft, you’ll see a set of tabs down the left-hand side. Each tab gives you access to a different type of aircraft-related data:

Main Info: Set up or edit aircraft details like registration number, make/model/spec, customer, and override settings. Learn more about Aircraft Setup Fields

Detail: Track miscellaneous values like battery/oil date, next annual/ELT, and engine/propeller info.

Media: Upload or view documents and photos associated with this aircraft (e.g., logbooks, damage history).

Fleet Media: View any media files inherited from the aircraft's associated make/model/spec. This tab shows shared documentation applied at the fleet level, such as service manuals, checklists, or brand-standard documentation.

📘 If you're using Fleet Config Overrides, those will determine which make/model/spec media are shown here.

Parts Catalog: Preview the parts catalog tied to this aircraft’s configuration or override it if needed.

📘 If you're using the Parts Catalog Override, this will take precedence over the Fleet Config and determine which catalog is associated with the aircraft — especially useful if you've changed the fleet configuration but want to retain the original parts setup.

Compliance: Create, edit, and manage recurring inspections or component tracking. View Compliance Module Overview

Readings: View or update aircraft meter readings (hours, cycles, landings, etc.). Update Aircraft Times via Batch Update

Contract Pricing: Apply special department-based labor rates specific to this aircraft.

Billing Override: Set up custom billing styles and rates for labor, parts, OSR, shop supplies, etc.

Tax Override: Override tax methods and rates for this aircraft, including specific invoice line-item taxation.

Cylinders (if enabled): Track cylinder compression readings for engine A and B. Requires cylinder tracking to be turned on in the Meter Profile.

W/O History: View all work orders or quotes linked to this tail number. Includes filters and summary data.

OSR History: See all Outside Repairs tied to this aircraft, including part, vendor, and billing info.

Parts History: Full list of parts charged to this aircraft across all work orders.

Other Ways to Interact with the Aircraft Module

  1. From a Work Order: You can view or update aircraft readings, add compliance items, or log cylinder compressions directly from an open work order.
  2. From Reports: Generate compliance listings, due lists, or history reports at the fleet or aircraft level.
  3. From Config > Fleet: Review fleet-level templates based on make/model/spec that link back to aircraft records.
