Researching Parts History for an Aircraft
This article explains how to use the Parts History tab for a specific aircraft, and how to expand that view across multiple aircraft using system reports.
The Parts History tab within an aircraft record provides a detailed, filterable view of all parts associated with Work Orders for that tail number. It gives maintenance and parts teams access to the part number, usage history, pricing, and fulfillment status — making it a powerful research tool for quoting, replenishment, and cost analysis.
This article explains how to navigate and use the Parts History tab for a specific aircraft, and how to expand that view across multiple aircraft using system reports.
Accessing the Parts History Tab
- Go to the Aircraft Module.
- Select a specific aircraft.
- Click into the Parts History tab.
This will show all part activity tied to Work Orders for this aircraft.
What You’ll See on This Tab
Each part entry includes:
- Part Number
- Part Description
- Component and Type
- Quantity Used
- Work Order # the part was used on
- Final Price
- Category and Subcategory
- Date Added
You can also:
- Use Advanced Search to filter by work order type, category or date ranges.
- Export results using the export icon in the top right.
Viewing Parts History Across Multiple Aircraft
- Go to the Work Orders Module > Reports tab.
- Select the Parts History Report.
- Apply filters:
- Tail Numbers
- Serialized Components
- Cities or Work Order Status
- Work Order Completed Date Range
- Click View Report to analyze parts usage and purchasing across the fleet.
Use Cases
- Review which parts have been used on a tail before quoting or ordering
- Audit historical parts pricing and markup
- Track recurring parts usage patterns across aircraft
- Support billing review and warranty validation
