Researching OSR History for an Aircraft

This article walks through how to use the OSR History tab for a specific aircraft, and how to expand that view across multiple aircraft using the Work Orders module.

The OSR History tab within an aircraft record displays a searchable, filterable log of all Outside Repairs (OSRs) associated with that aircraft. This allows MRO teams to track when work was outsourced, which vendors were used, what parts were involved, and what the customer was charged.

This article walks through how to access and interpret the OSR History tab for a specific aircraft, and how to expand that view across multiple aircraft using the Work Orders module.

📘 OSRs represent repair work performed by external vendors and are tracked against Work Orders.


 

Accessing the OSR History Tab

  1. Go to the Aircraft Module.
  2. Select a specific aircraft.
  3. Click into the OSR History tab.

This tab lists all OSRs tied to Work Orders associated with this aircraft.


 

What You’ll See on This Tab

Each OSR entry includes:

  • Associated Work Order #
  • Status (e.g., Open, Completed)
  • Item # from the Work Order
  • Part Number and Description
  • Vendor Name
  • Tail Number
  • Labor, Parts, Shipping In, Shipping Out Charges

You can also:

  • Click into the OSR to jump directly to the associated Work Order
  • Use the Advanced Search in the top right to filter by vendor, part number, or other criteria
  • Export results as a report
  • Filter by City or Status using dropdowns across the top

 

Viewing OSR History Across Multiple Aircraft

  1. Go to the Work Orders Module > Reports tab.
  2. Select the Outside Repair Listing Report.
  3. Apply filters:
    1. Tail Numbers
    2. Work Order Date Ranges
    3. City or Status
  4. Click View Report to export and analyze OSRs across your fleet.

 

Use Cases

  • Identify which vendors were used for specific aircraft
  • Audit charges billed to the customer for OSRs
  • Confirm recurring OSR issues or patterns by aircraft
  • Support quoting by referencing past external repair costs
