Customizing How Aircraft Detail Fields Display on Reports

This article explains how to configure Aircraft Detail fields, where they show up, and how they integrate into Display Profiles.

The Aircraft Detail tab within a Meter Profile allows EBIS users to control the naming and structure of custom fields that appear in Aircraft records and system-generated reports. These fields are separate from Meter Readings but can be displayed alongside them on logbooks, estimates, invoices, and maintenance printouts.

This article explains how to configure those fields, where they show up, and how they integrate into Display Profiles.

What Are Aircraft Detail Fields?

Aircraft Detail Fields are supplemental data fields tied to the aircraft — not individual readings. These may include custom fields like:

  • Next Annual
  • Next ELT
  • Engine 1 SN, Make, Model & O/H Date
  • Last Oil Reading

Unlike meter readings, these fields don’t update regularly with flight logs but can be configured for display or manual entry as needed.

Where to Configure Aircraft Detail Fields

  1. Go to Config > Meter Profiles
  2. Click into the desired profile
  3. Select the Aircraft Detail tab
  4. You’ll see a table of all available Aircraft Detail fields and their current naming conventions

🔍 These fields are not created here — they are standardized across the system. This screen lets you rename and control how they appear.

Customizing Field Labels

Each field has a column for Label Override:

  • Enter your preferred label for each field and click Save.
  • These labels will be used wherever the field appears (Reports, Logbooks, Invoices)

This allows different organizations to rename values like "Cycles" to "Engine Cycles Since Overhaul," etc.

📘 Changing the label does not impact data or structure — just the display name.

Connecting to Display Profiles

Display Profiles control what readings and detail fields appear on system printouts. Aircraft Detail fields can be selectively added to any Display Profile.

To include Aircraft Detail fields in Display Profiles:

  1. Go to Config > Meter Profiles > Display Profiles
  2. Click into a specific Display Profile (e.g., Logbook, Invoice)
  3. Click + Add Item > Add Aircraft Detail
  4. Select which Aircraft Detail field to include

You can:

  • Add multiple Aircraft Detail fields to the same Display Profile
  • Reorder them using the Sort #
  • Mix and match with meter readings

Why This Matters

Customizing Aircraft Detail fields improves clarity and professionalism across customer-facing printouts. It also ensures the data you want to highlight is always presented in the proper format.
