Viewing Continued Items on an Aircraft
This article explains where to find Continued Items on an aircraft, what information is shown, and how to use this view to support operational decision-making.
Continued Items (also known as deferred or carried-forward discrepancies) are maintenance items that remain unresolved and are intentionally moved into a future Work Order. EBIS makes it easy to view and track these items directly from the aircraft record so that maintenance staff can stay on top of open issues.
This article explains where to find Continued Items on an aircraft, what information is shown, and how to use this view to support operational decision-making.
Where to Find Continued Items
- Go to the Aircraft Module
- Select a specific aircraft
- Navigate to the Continued Items tab on the left-hand side
This tab will display all open items that have been marked as "Continued" on any prior Work Order for this aircraft.
What You’ll See
The Continued Items tab includes:
- Original Work Order Number the item was carried from
- Item Category
- Discrepancy text (as written in the original item)
- Corrective actions or technician notes (if applicable)
- Last Work Order interaction
- Total Hours Worked vs the Remaining Hours (e.g. the Hours Estimate on the WO line item subtracted by the Total Hours Worked)
You can also:
- Click into the related Work Order to view the full item history
- Use this tab to verify which items need to be continued into the next W.O.
📘 This view is especially useful when quoting new work or preparing for recurring visits.
Additional Ways to View Continued Items
In addition to the Aircraft’s Continued Items tab, there are two other ways to quickly identify open Continued Items:
- From a Work Order: When working in an active Work Order., click the + button in the Items tab and select "Add Continued Items" from the dropdown. This allows you to carry forward items from past Work Orders for this aircraft.
- From the Aircraft List View: Go to the Aircraft Module > List View, and look for the "# CPL" (Continued Items) column. This column shows the number of open Continued Items per aircraft at a glance, making it easy to prioritize planning.
Tips for Using the Continued Items Tab
- Use it as a checklist before creating a new Work Order
- Review with the customer before performing new inspections
- Export this list (if needed) by opening the linked Work Orders and using the print or export options there
