Compliance
EBIS 5 Path: Aircraft Module > Compliance
What is Compliance?
Compliance in aviation is essential for ensuring adherence to the protocols and regulations established by aerospace regulatory authorities. Aircraft operators are not only required to abide by these safety standards and directives, they must provide proof through documentation. The Compliance module offers robust functionality for tracking maintenance requirements and events, whether they occur as a one-time necessity or recur at specified intervals.
Configuration Prerequisites / Options
⚠ Advanced Access User Profile Types Only - Full
⚠ Tech Level Access - None
Compliance User Profiles (Permissions):
EBIS 5 Path 1: Config ⚙ > Admin: User Profiles > (Select an Advanced Access Profile Type) > Access Levels > Compliance
Compliance Lists

Action performed to Comply with Item / Discrepancy
• Compliance Inspection
Name / Type of Inspection only used with the Compliance Type has a System Type of "Inspection" (See Compliance Type)
• Compliance Item Type

• Compliance Type
Name of Compliance Types to be categorized between two System Types (Component or Inspection). EBIS will generate different options when creating / tracking a compliance event that is dependant on the System Type only.
System Types:
• Component - Within Compliance Event creation you will have the following Component Only related options:
• Inspection - Within Compliance Event creation you will have the following Inspection Only related options:
Compliance Event Creation
EBIS 5 Path: Aircraft Module > List > Select Aircraft > Compliance
PRO TIP:
See the Compliance section of the Meter Profiles KBA
In that section, you will learn how to configure the Default Readings that will be used by Compliance Events for specified recurrence intervals.
Steps to creating either a compliance event
Steps
1. Select the + Icon from the Compliance section from within the Aircraft record's sidebar
2. Choose Compliance Type & Name the Event, then select "Add and Goto" to continue configuring the event. In this case I have chosen a Component Type (System Type) of Compliance Events, named Engine, and I have named this Event Remove & Clean Fuel Injection Nozzles.
3. Enter / Update the Overview Section with applicable Item Number (AD reference, Item # , Chapter Info Etc), Indicate whether whether or not you would like this event to automatically add the part being serviced to the WO, Enter Part Number, Serial No., Part Action, and Indicate whether or not this event is "Not Applicable" to this A/C or perhaps no longer applicable and is for reference only.
4. Add Applicable Details within Detail Section. Details, Item Type, Action (Compliance Action), Make, Model No., Applicable Part/ Component Notes, Compliance Event Notes, Web Addresses, Issue Date & Revision Date.
5. Within the Main Configuration the Start/Install Date is the sate that tracking on the event began.
6. Within the Date Configuration section, if you are interested in tracking the frequency of the event by either Months, Days or a Specific Date. If not then select disabled. When choosing yes, you will be provided the opportunity to input whether the component had a number of "Days at Install" prior to being installed during this event and this will help calculate the new Due Details (subtract from). You also can input Total Prior Days on a previously replaced component for tracking purposes/ total life but the replacement part has 0 days so this number will not affect the next due date.
7. Repeat this process for Hours, Landings and Cycles where applicable. Once saved the Due Details will automatically recalculate based off of the input parameters.
Copying Events Between Aircraft
EBIS 5 Path: Aircraft Module > List > Select Aircraft > Compliance
Compliance events can only be copied between aircraft that share the same Meter Profile.
Steps to creating either a compliance event
Steps
1. Choose / Add an Aircraft that has the same Meter Profile as the Aircraft with the Compliance Events you would like to copy from.
2. Navigate to the Compliance section of that Aircraft's record and select the Copy Items button in the top right hand side
3. Select the Tail Number you would like to copy from the drop down list
4. Select the Event(s) from the list / select all and then select the Add (+) button to copy. Confirm then you are done!
Adding Compliance to Work Orders
EBIS 5 Path: Work Order Module > Create WO
The Compliance section will appear in Work Orders only for Aircraft that have associated compliance events linked to their Tail Number.
Steps to creating either a compliance event
Steps
1. Generate or open an existing Work Order for an Aircraft that is linked to Compliance Events.
2. Open the Compliance Section of the WO and view the events. Using filters for convenience determine which events to add to the WO based off of Type and Status. Select which events to add as items with the radio check boxes then select the Add (+) button to add them as Items to the WO.
3. Once completed and you update that items status to finished on the WO and updated the Readings you can then head back to the Compliance section and select the Manage Completion Dates button.
4. Input the event completion dates either in bulk with All Items or updating the dates within the last column one by one.
Compliance Tracking
EBIS 5 Path: Aircraft Module > Compliance
When reviewing all Compliance Events / Items, you can filter by Compliance Types, Statuses and Aircraft Classes. You may also sort Ascending / Descending by the column headers, and use the search field to narrow down your results. By default Compliance is sorted by Tail Number / Reg No.. At any time you can export the list to a xlsx or csv file and the current view will be applied to that export.
