Changing the Customer on a Work Order

Quick guide on how to update the customer on a W/O

Note: The Edit Billing Information User Access setting must be enabled for the specific User Profile that will be changing the Customer on a W/O.


If a W/O has been created with the wrong customer attached (oops!), it can easily be updated to reflect the correct information.

Note: To update the Customer, the W/O needs to be in an Open status.

  1. Let's start by pulling up the W/O that needs to be reassigned to a different customer in the Work Order Module.
    Find WO

  2. From the W/O, proceed to Config & Billing > General and then click the Edit Icon (pencil) to the right of the Customer field.


  3. In the Change Customer Name pop-up box, begin typing in the search box and select the correct customer's name from the drop-down. Click Save. The W/O will now display the correct/updated customer.

  4. If you want all of the items on the W/O to update the Billing Customer to the new customer (from Elvis Presley to Michael Jordan in this example), you can select Reset all items to this customer to the right of the Customer field on the Config & Billing Tab.
